Why recycle your electrical waste (e-waste)?
E-waste is the fastest growing waste stream in the world. And the amount of e-waste being produced is expected to increase significantly in the next 10 years.
Electrical items contain a complex mixture of materials. By stripping out hazardous items and re-using as many materials as possible, recycling is good for the environment. For example, the plastics, circuit boards, wiring and metals in e-waste can all be taken out and used to make new products.
If e-waste is put into a rubbish bin, it is taken to landfill sites where its resources are lost.
